About the Band

In the fall of 2001, four musicians, a singer and a singer songwriter came together through HIS divine appointment which birthed the formation of Whirlwind. Even though these God serving individuals were from different church dominations and from active working music ministry groups, they each had an overwhelming desire and calling to serve the LORD in a more meaningful and fulfilling way.

The result of God’s divine appointment, the Holy Spirits' intervention via the “Law of Convergence”, took the gospel out of their individual local churches and into the streets of the un-churched.

Starting from a core group of six, they presently have eight members taking God’s message into the streets “Motown Gospel Style”.

Whirlwind's mission is:

• To bring glory and honor to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
• To bring unity and encouragement to the Body of Christ.
• To continue taking the gospel of Jesus Christ to the people as an evangelistic outreach ministry of the Fish Locker Café, Christian coffeehouse ministries.

Called to the streets to minister, “If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.”(Matthew 16: 24), is by no means a cliché for Whirlwind. They not only minister in churches, coffee houses, festivals, and church sponsored events, but actually go into the undesirable communities and neighborhood projects to set up outdoor concerts and share the good news of Jesus Christ to a lost and dying world.
